MAKING CITIES RESILIENT
In 2015 I've been asked by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) of Geneva to rework the "Making Cities Resilient Campaign" visual identity in occasion of its re-launch. Among the main tasks I was in charge of, I had to create an element which plays a central role in helping to easily identify the campaign, .i.e. a resilient city illustration. To build this visual element, I decided to keep the simple and naive feel which characterized the former campaign's identity, so it could still convey a positive and friendly image, but "packaged" in a new visual style. The illustration had to bring focus on smaller cities, but at same time without excluding bigger ones. Below, in addition to the original resilient city illustration, you will also see other images showing the way this visual element has been used on different communication medias.
